Brings legendary Praga Premium Pilsner to America

Company’s First Czech Beer Import Explores the Birthplace of Pilsner

Middleton, Mass. – (June 2013) – Global Beer Network, the exclusive U.S. importer for more than 60 Belgian beer labels, today announced the introduction of its first Czech beer, Praga Premium Pilsner. The light golden pilsner is crisp and refreshing with a strong, pleasant flavor and 4.5 percent alcohol by volume (ABV). Praga, as with most Czech beers, uses less carbon dioxide which makes it less filling without compromising on taste.
The authentic Czech pilsner offers a classic, full-bodied beer that is rich in the distinctive Saaz hops flavor. Saaz hops are named after the Czech city of Žatec, which in German is “Saaz.”
This latest addition to the Global Beer family of brands is steeped in history in addition to offering great beer flavor. Praga Premium is brewed at the historic Piovar Samson, also known as the original Budweiser (Budvar) brewery located in the city of České Budějovice, Czech Republic. The brewery was founded in 1795. Pilsner is named after the city of Pilsen (Plzeň) in the Czech Republic where this style of beer was first produced in 1842.
“We offer beers that are authentic from the world’s best craft brewers,” said Steve Villani, president, Global Beer Network. “Praga and its historic roots in the European and Czech beer innovation fits our mission perfectly.”
Praga Premium Pilsner is available across the U.S. for a suggested retail price of $1.99 for a .5 liter bottle or $9.99 for a six-pack of 11.2 oz. bottles. It will soon be available in bottles and on tap at select bars and restaurants. Praga pairs well with Asian cuisines and curries, but is also offers a light, thirst-quenching flavor to be enjoyed on its own.
